The Te Kairanga vineyards yield rich fruit with distinct characteristics, which have been woven into what can only be described as a harmonious assembly of the best possible grapes from the vintage. Known around the world as one of Australia’s best Rieslings, previous vintage claimed Silver International Wine Challenge. "A lovely pure riesling of gentle charm. Top value as well!" -Winorama.com.au, "From a severe drought-affected vintage comes this floral baby, youthful and pretty with musky elements among lime aromatics, then a firmly bodied palate tight with fine minerally textures, and even now, a sense that its future has a honey glow!" -Advertiser, "Peter Lehmann Rieslings shine regularly on the world stage!" -The Telegraph |
Roughly equal proportions of Marsanne, Rousanne and Viognier sourced exclusively from the Mitchelton estate vineyard. Airstrip is a lively but tight blend of vigorous white fruit. Modest crop levels ranging from 2 to 3½ tonnes per acre give this wine its core intensity. Each individual block is managed and vinified separately to allow the different qualities of each variety, shaped by the unique vineyard site and soil profiles, to shine through. The individual parcels of fruit are moulded together during blending to produce the unique Airstrip style |
The name Stonier is widely recognised as the producer of exceptional Mornington Chardonnay. A richly barrel fermented wine, Stonier arbors through a diligent lees stirring process to maintain the fresh, powerful fruit characters of the wine. "Mornington Peninsula chardonnay can be a full-on exercise in buttery richness but this is different. A silvery, yellow wine with melon and slightly smoky aromas, it's light in the mouth but intense. Melony flavour runs through a long palate, finishing chalky and dry. A charming wine!" -Herald Sun |
Before David Powell took on the task of raiding Barossa vineyards, he spent several years on the Scottish Highlands as a lumberjack in the Torbreck forest. Woodcutter Shiraz is a highly approachable introduction to the Torbreck range, featuring fruit from some of the up and coming vineyards, rather than the battle hardened old warriors which make up the heart and soul of the Torbreck winelist. "This is the kind of red I liked to drink with a hearty meal after a hard day's work in the wood, but you don't have to be a woodcutter to enjoy it!" -David Powell |
In the crowded world of wine, New Zealand is paradise for Sauvignon Blanc, and New Zealand’s Marlborough region sits at the heart of it all. The abundant sunshine, low rainfall, cool nights and long growing season, helps to build and maintain the vibrant, zesty fruit flavours which make wines from this corner of the world so distinctive. The fruit is the focus of Crowded House, sourcing the finest possible from dedicated growers is fundamental. Marlborough’s best vineyards form the foundations of Crowded House, a Sauvignon Blanc that's generous and in fine balance |
Super Bin 389 & 407
Value packed Bin 128 & 28
Over the last forty years Penfolds Bin 389 has developed a strong identity for consistency, reliability and exceptional value. Components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange. Wine lovers enjoy it because it's delicious and ready to drink immediately upon release. |
A textbook Cabernet, the varietally expressive Bin 407 highlights the virtue of sensitive vineyard blending, bold Cabernet flavours are supported by a judicious use of soft oak. Magnificent Cabernet, bursting with a rich panoply of cedary highlights which wrap themselves around the thick berry fruit flavours. |
Introduced as one of the first Bin wines within the Penfolds portfolio, it has become an Australian classic. Penfolds Bin 28 is a ripe fleshy warm-climate Shiraz offering structure and generosity of flavour. Bin 128 has claimed an impressive chestful of awards and was twice named Red of the Year at the London International. |
In 1960 Bill Redman persuaded Max Schubert to acquire a parcel of Coonawarra, and the Bin 128 experience began. The only Penfolds to be pure Coonawarra, it was originally labelled as Claret, and whilst the quality has increased immeasurably, very little has changed about how Bin 128 is made. | |
