From vines planted to the estate's Rowley Crescent, Stoney Range and Sandy Creek vineyards in the Waipara Valley. Sherwood carries the name of the proprietor and reflects a commitment to the highest quality. A pure wine that's varietally focused, sourced from the best Marlborough sites and managed by devoted growers, a refreshing and mouth filling Sauvignon Blanc that's internationally acclaimed for its consistency and excellence. "Wet your whistle with this exciting offering from Marlborough. A pure delight with the freshest seafood!" -Ozwinenews.com |
Time has revealed the Eden Valley to be a natural home for Riesling which, to quote Peter Lehmann, is the noblest white wine variety. Lehmann's Eden Valley has the unique distinction of being awarded Trophy for Best Riesling in the World at the London International Wine and Spirit Competition five times, more than any winemaker in the world. "A firmly bodied palate tight with fine minerally textures, and even now, a sense that its future has a honey glow!" -Adelaide Advertiser, "Peter Lehmann Rieslings shine regularly on the world stage!" -The Telegraph |
There are good reasons why Cloudy Bay is New Zealand's most widely acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc. "It's always extremely well-balanced, smooth and, most importantly, there's not a single sharp flavour in the mouth. This is all about the integration of freshness and zingy green sauvignon without overt fruit salad tastes!" -NZ Herald, "While other Marlborough sauvignons have become overpoweringly pungent, like caricatures of the regional style, Cloudy Bay stays consistent, lean, crisp and with that delicious lick of passionfruit!" -Canberra Times |
A key to the success of Ribbon Vale is an astute understanding of how tannins develop during skin contact after fermentation. Through tasting, the right balance between fruit flavours, tannin and the correct time to press is struck. Merlot is a contrary beast, the two estate blocks give quite different results. The West Block has always produced higher yields, the East Block has more difficult conditions. The yield needs to be incresed in some instances and reduced in others. Merlot is the Goldilocks of grapes and the porridge has to be just right |
Fully bodied, predominantly Cabernet enhanced by a small percentage of the Bordelais varietals. A distinguished Margaret River wine by one of the region's premier estates, supple and elegant, framed by attractive tannins and gentle oak. "This nose reminded one judge of a mixture of peanut brittle and black cherries. Tight and precise on the palate, with intense plum/cherry mocha/ nutmeg flavours and long, silky tannins!" -Winestate, "It is hard to imagine a more delicious or better Cabernet at this price, let alone from Margaret River!" -Western Weekly |
Leeuwin can be counted upon to set aside batches of their best grapes, year in and year out, for the Sibling Shiraz. Slightly more forward drinking than the estate's flagships, Sibling is blessed with radiant fruit and graceful tannins. "Peppery red berry and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by graphite, violet and roasted coffee. Sharply focused red and dark berry flavors are given a spicy kick by cracked pepper and firmed by juicy acidity. Turns sweeter with air and finishes with gentle grip and lingering red fruit qualities!" -Stephen Tanzer's |
Super Bin 389 & 407
Value packed Bin 128 & 28
Over the last forty years Penfolds Bin 389 has developed a strong identity for consistency, reliability and exceptional value. Components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange. Wine lovers enjoy it because it's delicious and ready to drink immediately upon release. |
A textbook Cabernet, the varietally expressive Bin 407 highlights the virtue of sensitive vineyard blending, bold Cabernet flavours are supported by a judicious use of soft oak. Magnificent Cabernet, bursting with a rich panoply of cedary highlights which wrap themselves around the thick berry fruit flavours. |
Introduced as one of the first Bin wines within the Penfolds portfolio, it has become an Australian classic. Penfolds Bin 28 is a ripe fleshy warm-climate Shiraz offering structure and generosity of flavour. Bin 128 has claimed an impressive chestful of awards and was twice named Red of the Year at the London International. |
In 1960 Bill Redman persuaded Max Schubert to acquire a parcel of Coonawarra, and the Bin 128 experience began. The only Penfolds to be pure Coonawarra, it was originally labelled as Claret, and whilst the quality has increased immeasurably, very little has changed about how Bin 128 is made. | |
