The Langmeil winemakers searched the Barossa for ancient and sometimes, neglected old Shiraz vines. Still grown on their original roots which came from pre-phylloxera Europe and South Africa, these exceptional old vines yield some of the rarest wines in the world. Small volumes of the Old Vine Company Shiraz have been crafted from the finest fruit with the best, though not necessarily the most modern equipment. Only vineyards planted at least 100 years ago were assembled to craft this truly exceptional wine from the outstanding 2003 vintage.

The most famous and prestigious sweet white wine in the world, vines of the Appellation Sauternes Controlee are stimulated by a unique microclime during autumn, as sunny dry weather of the day alternates with cool fog at night. Due to the extremely low yields of two to three glasses per vine, Sauternes are extraordinarily complex and can withstand prolonged cellaring. Offering a wide range of intense aromas, as Sauterne approaches the peak of it's development, it develops immensely attractive layers of honeyed characters, toasted nuts and candied fruits.

The young wine begins with true varietal power of great delicacy which requires up to twelve months lees contact in new French oak to draw out the complexity, losing none of that essential balance in the process.
