Sandro Mosele is one of Victoria's most accomplished vignerons, his celebrated editions of Kooyong and Port Phillip estates are amongst the most cherished renderings of Burgundy styled Pinot Noir in the nation. Mosele has applied his art to a precious parcel of fruit, picked off a single, modest block of vine, grown to the fully fertile soils of a lamb and beef stud, on the brisk, maritime blown coastals of Gippsland South. This is not Pinot for profit, Walkerville represents an aesthetic appreciation of fruit from the farmer, invigorated by the blessings of providence and consecrations of local livestock. A cornucopia of comely characters, forcemeats and fennel, pectins and pith, Walkerville make Pinot Noir as it should be, bucolic, pastoral, articulate of the land whence it came. Partisans and purists of bespoke presentations in Pinot, are quietly advised to pool their pesetas and avail themselves of a case or two Walkerville Pinot Noir, a mere few hundred dozen are made of each.. Secret Stone is Marlborough through and through. Pinot Gris is collated from highly specialised vineyards in the very heart of Marlborough, each contributing personality to the final wine. Parcels are harvested to a timetable determined by full physiological ripeness, judicious acids and optimal levels of natural fruit sugar. Grapes are delivered promptly to the winery where they are crushed and inoculated to select yeasts. The must is treated to a cool, temperature monitered vinification in controlled fermenters to retain all the bright, vibrant fruit characters. Secret Stone is treated to a spell on sedimentery yeast lees to improve texture and develop fine complexity.
Pale straw yellow colour. The nose is full of attractive fruit aromas, peach and currant, citrus, pinenut and pear. A rich palate of orange, chalk and aromatic oils, a hint of bay leaf, almond, apple and banana crisp. Always a refreshing drink whilst young, Pinot Gris is well known for developing richer honeyed fruit as it develops in bottle.

Secret Stone
With a plan to hero the premium wines and regions of New Zealand there was no question that our initial focus would be sauvignon blanc from New Zealand's premier region, Marlborough...

"Made from the 2004 vintage, this wine has been passionately created to reflect the distinctive Sauvignon Blanc style for which the region has become well regarded throughout the world."

Secret Stone

A wine almost as rare as the precious greenstone that inspired its name. Found in the South Island, greenstone is crafted into beautiful carvings that are passed on from one generation to the next. Like the land itself, they are much treasured and from this much treasured land comes the finest parcels of fruit which have been selected for Secret Stone.

The result is the Secret Stone Sauvignon Blanc, a wine fresh, vibrant and elegant. Distinctively Marlborough.

Once received at the winery the fruit is de-stemmed, pressed and chilled to 10-12C before gentle pressing. The resulting juices are cold settled for 48-72 hours and racked in preparation for fermentation. Following fermentation in stainless steel the wine is chilled to 0C prior to racking and selection for the final blend. The primary objective being to protect the fresh vibrant characters of the expressive fruit.
