Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia
Andrew Garrett can lay claim to the most memorable vintages of Australia's finest, effervescent red wines. The choicest harvests of fruit from premier vineyards, parcels showing exemplary varietal defintion and ripe tannin balance, are assembled into a generously flavoured wine which defines the sparkling Shiraz style. Consistent in quality and versatile in service, Andrew Garrett makes the perfect aperitif, an ideal acompaniement to rich cuisine or light nibbles and hors d'oeuvres.
Established 1983 in McLaren Vale, the Andrew Garrett label has long been regarded as an honest and unpretentious marque that delivers excellent value wines, approachable and reliable from year to year. Following selection and the crush, Shiraz is inoculated and vinified in a combination of temperature controlled fermenters. The base wines are racked and aged before a regimen of trials to determine the assemblage. A secondary fermentation is induced in bottle to create the fine, textural mousse.
Deep purple red, persistent creamy mousse. Bouquets of violet, cherry and spiced, peppery plum. A fine textural mouthfeel, soft and elegant, supported by solid tannins, controlled background oak and refreshing acidity. A long, lingering finish on a lip smacking note of dark berry fruits, licorice and plum. Enjoy Andrew Garrett with turkey or ham, a sauced chocolate pudding or cheese.
