Angus the Bull was a simple idea that just wouldn't go away. It soon became an obsession, when it eventually reached the point where it occupied all his waking moments, Hamish MacGowan finally decided to turn his concept into a reality. The philosophy behind Angus The Bull is to create a unique wine that provides the ideal accompaniment to prime beef. Cabernet Sauvignon is the fruit of choice and the aim is to fashion an intense, satisfying red wine experience with consistency.

Angus The Bull is a collation of hand selected harvests, essentially Cabernet Sauvignon, chosen on the basis of a synergy to form a whole that is so much greater than the sum of parts. Each year the most promising parcels are fashioned into the ultimate meat eater's cuvée. The flexibility of an eclectic blending approach provides for great consistency from vintage to vintage and allows for the best attributes of individual regions to be combined for exceptional results. Following the harvest, crush and inoculation, vinification is performed in a combination of static and rotary fermenters, followed by oak maturation and assemblage. Alcohol 14.0%

Intense colour with bright purple hues. Ripe black fruits with rich dark chocolate and vanillin smoky oak aromas. Medium to full bodied palate weight, characterised by firm tannins and a bold, savoury masculine finish.
