Paul Osicka Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Osicka's vineyard was originally planted in the sandy soils of Heathcote's east in the fifties. Intense ecological vineyard management hasn't affected the Osicka commitment to quality, and while best known for Shiraz, this scarlet and purpley-footed cassis-like Cabernet from hot red ferrous soils is an absolute thumper. It's rich and Medocey with shimmering cedary wood. This turkish delight of a Heathcote Cabernet is irresistable to drink today, but can be counted on to lie blissfully and develop nicely in a cellar for years to come.

Paul Osicka Shiraz 2010

One of Heathcote's longest established winemakers, Paul Osicka planted his vines in the 1950s, when Heathcote as a winegrowing region was but a twinkle in the eyes. Old fashioned practices are employed in the vineyard. Vines are hand pruned and fruit is selectively hand picked. A high profile local identity and a bit of a cult figure, Osicka specializes in raising parcels of intensely flavoured grapes which translate into vigorous Shiraz wines. Osicka's small batch production is highly anticipated each year by Shiraz enthusiasts in the know.
