Magpie The Schnell Shiraz Grenache 2010

Whilst the praiseworthy efforts of Magpie Estate are mostly earmarked for export to the UK, small amounts are reserved for devotees of esoteric Barossa reds right here in Australia. The Schnell is an assemblage of Shiraz and Grenache from vineyards managed by some of the most respected Barossa growers. Quite a forward style of wine, simply scrumptuous in it's youth.

Rolf Binder Veritas Hanisch Shiraz 2006

Excellent Langtons Classification. By one of the most peer respected winemakers in South Australia. Harvested from the same six rows every year, Hanisch is a rare and exclusive wine with fewer than five hundred dozen being made each vintage. The home blocks on the Veritas Vineyard are given the name Chri-Ro after Christa and Rolf. In 1968 Veritas purchased land from Punch Hanisch that was then incorporated into Chri-Ro. This was planted to vines in 1972 and by the mid 1980s it was recognized that a small block made a powerful Shiraz wine.
