Stonier KBS Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007

A single parcel Pinot Noir from the KBS Vineyard, offering typicity and profound integrity each year. Named after founder Kenneth Brian Stonier, the KBS property was planted in 1988 on deep rich red loams adjacent to the winery. Pinot Noir from this elite site is nothing short of outstanding, it translates into the finest examples of Mornington, consistently well balanced with ripe fruit flavours yet high natural acidity. The smallest quarter of the choicest fruit is separately bottled as KBS Pinot Noir, the balance forming a key component in Stonier's Reserve.

The priority here is to retain the individual site characteristics throughout the winemaking By constructing a single vineyard KBS Pinot Noir, Stonier can isolate for the enthusiast, the nuances of the local terrains which make Stonier so special. KBS vineyard is lyre trellised which opens up the canopy, this combined with its easterly aspect ensures that the vines capture maximum sunlight. Hand picked grapes are destemmed and vinified in small open fermenters, hand plunged through fifteen days maceration before transfer to new and prior use French oak barriques for malolactic. KBS is allowed to mature with minimal intervention for fifteen months before being racked and bottled the following winter. Alcohol 14.0%

Medium ruby colour. Fragrant aromas of dark plum, raspberry and blackberry with some dried herbal notes and fresh liquorice. An abundance of generously flavoured dark red fruits to the palate with a hint of raspberry liquorice and some uplifting spice on a firm but delicate tannin structure. KBS displays the definition, richness and integration of a great vineyard.

Barber are the entry level to Seville's exquisite range, hand crafted to classic Burgundian techniques. Four decades of the Yarra Valley's most inspiring Pinot Noir have consolidated the style and ensconced Seville as a leading Yarra Valley winemaker. The aim is to create an earthy, elegant style with gamey, toasty flavours. Low cropping levels ensure the intensity of fruit flavours, maturation in French oak contributes fine complexity.

The Morey family can boast of a winemaking tradition spanning five centuries along the Mosel River Valley. Their 2½ hectare vineyard on the outskirts of Beechworth now makes exclusive use of the finest local fruit. The Gamay grape traditionally makes a light bodied fruity wine, its thin skin yields little in the way of tannin for a forward style which drinks superbly on release. Sorrenberg work to a combination of Burgundy and Beaujolais techniques, producing an even more striking Gamay wine through the inclusion of a minor portion Pinot Noir.

Stoneleigh Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009

Stoneleigh's Vineyards are located towards the northern side of Wairau Valley in close proximity to the mighty Wairau River. Often referred to as the Rapaura series of soils, they are relatively young, based on river silts and stones, low in nutrients they offer very little water holding capacity. True to the Stoneleigh style, this soft, supple wine captures the essence of Marlborough. Fragrant and flavoursome, it has been fashioned from small blocks of varying clones and rootstocks, achieving a completely integrated and complex style of Pinot Noir.
