A pure Mourvedre wine from fruit grown to good McLaren Vale sites, crafted into an extremely limited release of a few hundred dozen. Parcels are vinified for two or three weeks on skins before being pressed to French oak barriques for malolactic ferment and fourteen months maturation. Not many wines come with instructions, Some Young Punks make the assumption that you'll know just what to do when Lust Collides.

We blame the booze, the whiff and the swill did us in and all that was left to do was to make more. In many ways the wines that weren't worth the pull on the cork caused this as much as the wines that we will never have the pleasure of decorking again. Conceptually, an adaptation of the pulp novel Sin on Wheels, realized through an equitable coupling of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. This is Passion, a monster bigger than the three of us that leads us to soapbox, even to grandstand and sometimes pass out on the couch.

Spinifex appropriate much of their grapes from small family growers, often dealing with passionate farmers who are excited to find a winemaker who is interested in their vineyard and their fruit. St Hallett chooses individual sites each year for inclusion into the Gamekeepeer. Shiraz is sourced from a patchwork of vineyards scattered throughout the central and western districts of the Barossa which can yield parcels of intensely flavoured grapes. The Cabernet hails from cooler, slower ripening parts in the south. All during the ripening period, St Hallett's winemakers and team of viticulturalists spend time in the vineyards monitoring the sugar/ acid profiles and flavour development, co-ordinating the harvest to a schedule based on complete ripeness.
