William James Maxwell was an architectural sculptor who migrated from Scotland to Australia in 1875. He built a mock castle and established a family vineyard just outside Adelaide, which he named Woodlands Park. An Cuan Mor is an 18 year Laphroaig Malt, treated to an extended term of age in pre loved Bourbon barrels, followed by a term of finishing in seasoned Sherry casks, one of the finest editions of Islay Malt ever made.
In making Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire, this intensely aromatic smoke, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour.
