There are few family names in the Australian wine industry as eminent and enduring as Glaetzer and Potts, they own and operate many of the oldest and most precious vineyards in Langhorne Creek. John Glaetzer was right hand man to the legendary Wolf Blass throughout the breathtaking sequence of Black Label Jimmy Watson victories. Ben Potts learned his trade at the oldest family owned wineworks in Australia Bleasdale, established by the larger than life Frank Potts in 1858. Ben's great grandfather was the first Langhorne Creek grower to supply grapes to Wolf Blass. The Glaetzer and Potts families have collaborated for decades to achieve many of the nation's most memorable vintages. Together, Ben Potts and.. Vital vintages from the most precious parcels»

Right next to the Merry Widow Inn at Glenrowan, infamous of Kelly gang folklore, Richard Bailey set up shop to service prospectors during the great Victorian gold rush of the 1860s. Rows of newly planted Shiraz soon followed and the Baileys released their first vintage in 1870. The region was ultimately infected by the terrible vine killing plague of the 1890s, a guarded blessing for Glenrowan, which elevated the quarantine status of its vitiated vineyards to a marque of the highest provenance. Baileys endure as one of the new world's most arcane and mythical wineworks, a small estate of historically significant parcels, producing limited vintages, defined by their exceptional value, purity of parentage.. Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Auslese CONFIRM VINTAGE

Riesling Saar Germany
Scharzhofberger is one of the most famous sites in Germany and was probably planted by the Romans. It is extremely steep at a gradient of 30° to 60° and quite high in elevation. Every year, those parcels of Riesling which are worthy of the late picked Auslese style are hand selected by Egon Muller, to be vinified into one of the Rhineland's most cherished wines.
The soils at Scharzhofberg are very deep and without bedrock, originally formed by gray Devonian slate decomposition. The site is very well drained but still holds sufficient moisture, a characteristic shared by many of the finest European vineyards. The distinguished einzellagen comprises sixty seven acres, of which Egon Muller owns eighteen. The wines are fermented to wild indigenous yeasts and matured in thousand litres oak foudres. The aim is to craft the finest example of traditionally hand made Auslese. The well seasoned barrels are kept in deep, very cold, damp cellars, originally constructed by mediaeval monks, which offer the perfect environment to gently age the wines.
Pale gold hue. White fruit aromas and floral bouquet, citrus, peaches and pear. A rich palate with bright citrus acid balancing the sweetness of fruit flavours. The wine displays stony minerality, hints of acacia and lilac, grilled exotic fruit, sweet stone fruits and bracing acidity all combined in perfect harmony. The finish is very long, with generous, lingering complexity.
