Campbeltown was known as Whisky Capital of the World, until US Prohibition and the great recession ended the boom years for Scotch Whisky. Only two Campbeltown Distilleries have survived to this day, renowned throughout the world of bespoke Malt enthusiasts for their excellence, limited availability and inimitable briny character. The Springbank whiskyworks are home to three superior marques of Malt, the eponymously labelled estate brand is defined by its judicious peatyness, fruity, mealy biscuit qualities and savoury, maritime dryness.
