Cheers to the men of the maltings, monkey shoulder is in reference to a temporary injury suffered by Maltmen while turning barley by hand. Three of Speyside's finest Malts, Kininvie, Balvenie and Glenfiddich are aged in Bourbon casks coopered by Monkey Shoulder's own artisans. Only when the Malt has fully mellowed and matured are twenty seven individual casks selected for assembling into the final Whisky.
Nose of delicate floral notes are intertwined with zesty citrus orange and soft fresh apricots and peach. Hints of honey and spicey oak are enveloped in a rich vanilla sweetness. Beautifully sweet and rich vanilla flavour. Brown sugar and creamy toffee are balanced by oak notes with just a hint of spices, cinnamon and nutmeg. Exceptionally smooth with a lingering sweetness.
