A richly flavoured sparkler, the poly-vintage Bleasdale, derived from base wines through several years and topped up with a strong liqueur to initiate a secondary fermentation. The magnificence of barrel aged Shiraz characteristics are balanced by the sweetness from the doseage liqueur. The historic cellars constructed from red gum and limestone house a massive red gum lever press which fifth generation winemaker Michael Potts still uses once a year to make a very limited release wine. While the Bleasdale wineworks are steeped in history, the estate has installed the latest technology, still maintaining the founding philosophy of producing honest, consistent and reliable wines. Approx 13.5%

Colour is very dark and purple, an anxious, persistent effervescence. Nose is quite busy, awash with developed fruit characters and complex liqueur nuances. There is nothing subdued about this wine. It comes on like an ebullient, cream and froth driven chocolate torte, heavy on the maraschino cherry. There's deep rancio qualities and a fine balancing act by virtue of a cleansing acidic backdrop that makes this red sparkler perfectly rounded and just too easy to guzzle. Vibrant in appearance, rich in flavour and aromatics, its colourful bead leads to a sweet berry and confection palate before culminating in a lingering aftertaste. A wine to be enjoyed with christmas pudding or duck, roast meats or just on its own.

Bleasdale Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2012

Adelaide Hills are but an hour's drive from Bleasdale but the style of Chardonnay grown to the cool ripening aspects of elevated, undulating hillsides is a world away from that grown to the Bleasdale property at Langhorne Creek. The Adelaide Hills style is distinctly crisper and more aromatic, one could say it even tastes chilled at room temperature. An extravagant course of barrel ferments, wild yeast vinification and lees exposure makes a richly textured Chardonnay wine with good colour, savoury vanillan aromatics and solid palate structure.

What fine Pinot Gris that the Adelaide Hills make. Crisp mountain breezes meander around the veritable maze of sub valleys and undulating hillsides, stimulating the vines and enhancing exotic citrus nut varietal characters in the grapes. Bleasdale have taken their pick of fruit from the finest vineyards planted to loamy, low fertility sands which are ideal for Pinot Gris. After a quick trek back to the Bleasdale wineworks, fruit is treated to a prompt vinification and early bottling to retain the vitally luminous expression of Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris.

Frank Potts established the Bleasdale vineyards in 1850, his eponymously labelled wine commemorates a legacy of innovation and resourcefulness. Frank Potts is a Bordeaux styled Cabernet which may contain varying portions of Malbec or Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc or Merlot depending on the performance of vintage. Bleasdale Mulberry Tree Cabernet 2010

A prolific accumulator of trophys and gold medals, Bleasdale has claimed Best Australian Red Trophy at the prestigious London International Wine Challenge. Mulberry Tree is the essential Langhorne Creek Cabernet, exhibiting fragrant dark berry characters with hints of eucalypt and mint, supported by chewy, toothsome tannins. Bleasdale Potts Catch Verdelho 2012

Frank Potts planted Verdelho cuttings from the isle of Madeira on the rich alluvial flood plains of Langhorne Creek in the 1860s. Today, Bleasdale's Verdelho is fast emerging as one of Langhorne Creek's most savoury and pleasant drink now whites. Some of the grapes are hand picked from vines over eighty yeas of age. An estery, lifted fruit style of Verdelho wine, unwooded and dry, crisp and refreshing with zippy acidity and ripe fruit salad flavours, seasoned by a touch of lithe perfumed grassyness.

Bleasdale Second Innings Malbec 2010

Bleasdale have been at it for generations and are highly specialised with Malbec, a key component to the estate's flagship wine, the icon Frank Potts. Malbec is rarely seen as a pure varietal, but at Langhorne Creek it performs well enough to earn its stripes all on its own. Showing vibrant primary fruit flavours of plum, red berries and spice in its youth, it finishes soft and round on a length of velvety smooth tannins.

Bleasdale Wise Old Tawny Port

Bleasdale was established in 1850, is classified by the National Trust and is listed on the State and National Heritage Registers. Fully conversant with the soils, the microclimates and the cycle of flooding which nourishes the unique terroir of the estate's vineyards, fifth generation winemaker Michael Potts cultivates the old Grenache and Verdelho vines destined for inclusion into the Wise Old Tawny. A smooth rich Port wine full of rancio and nutty flavours obtained through a slow maturation over many years under small oak casks.
