Delatite Dead Mans Hill Gewurtztraminer 2011

Gewurtztraminer was one of Delatite's first plantings, it has continued to deliver the most memorable, award winning vintages. Deadman's Hill is widely regarded as the benchmark in Australia, the first Traminer ever to be selected for Qantas International First Class. The Deadman's Hill site is a hundred metres higher than the other vineyards at Delatite and has been dry grown for most of it's life. It was the first part of the vineyard to be converted to BioDynamics and like all other blocks at Delatite, it is completely pruned and picked by hand.

Delatite are best known for their splendid white wines, which have claimed a litany of trophies, accolades and rave reviews throughout the world for many years. The first vines were planted in 1968 on a picturesque rise overlooking the vistas of Mt Buller. It became quickly known that the Delatite site was something quite special, as all of the wines, Riesling in particular, are a profound expression of varietal expression and of place.
