Knappstein Cabernet Merlot 2011

Knappstein has been the most conspicuous name in the development of Clare Valley wine since 1895. The winery was originally founded by Tim Knappstein as Enterprise Wines. Today, the low yielding Enterprise Vineyard yields some of the region's finest Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibiting bold concentration of flavour, distinctive mint eucalypt flavours, fine, velvety tannins and striking acidity, as derived from the iron rich soils and limestone geology. Planted in 1969, the calibre and typicity of Enterprise Vineyard has shone consistently throughout the years.

Knappstein Hand Picked Riesling 2012

After more than a century of dedicated viticulture, Knappstein have developed an almost intuitive understanding of the Clare Valley. Knappstein have returned to hand picking as part of a quality enhancement program, the delicate Riesling grape responds so much better to gentle handling and careful selection. The finished wine shows lovely lifted citrus fruits, with distinct Watervale floral notes and perfume.

Knappstein Shillings Classic Clare 2010

Twelve shillings were the average weekly wage paid to miners in the Clare Valley, back in the days when Knappstein wineworks were the Enterprise Brewery, circa late 1800s. As one of Australia's most eminent wine growing regions, the Clare Valley's warm dry days and crisp, clear nights stimulate the vines, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz have taken famously to the favourable conditions. Enter Shillings, an assemblage of the two noble red varietal grapes in the quintessential Australian red wine style, endowed with the distinctive softness of Clare Valley.

Knappstein Shiraz 2010

A solid regional style by one of Valley Clare cardinal winemakers, a generously proportioned Shiraz that's redolent with violets and cherry mint flavours over a soft palate of balance and structure. The majority of fruit is sourced from the estate's Yertabulti Vineyard which sits atop an elevated site just east of township Clare. Vines are planted to Terra rosa soils, naturally very low yielding, delivering grapes which display outstanding intensity and varietal charm.

Knappstein TK Sauvignon Blanc

A Sauvignon Blanc of magnificent pungent passionfruity characters, refreshingly citrus in nature with a subtle herbaceous note. The palate displays intense passionfruit and tropical fruits, persistent mineral flavours which are balanced out by a refreshing acidity. Sauvignon Blanc fruit was sourced from outside the Knappstein vineyard at Lenswood, with the balance sourced from nearby Oakbank, so the wine carries the Adelaide Hills appellation. An impeccable table white crafted with minimal intervention to preserve purity of fruit expression.

Knappstein Watervale Ackland Riesling 2012

A pure expression of Watervale whence the fruit is sourced and of the grape varietal from which it is derived. Planted in 1969, the site is a dry grown vineyard situated on classic red loam over limestone soils, perfect for outstanding Riesling fruit, the delicate floral nuances are unique to the handful of vineyards within this Watervale area.
