Torres Vina Sol CONFIRM VINTAGE

Parellada Penedes Spain Spain
Torres are especially proud of their whites. Miguel A.Torres made his first vintage of Viña Sol at Penedes in 1962. He chose Parellada, a grape with a history, it makes a wine with a distinctively dry fruit freshness. Viña Sol sits smoothly and crisply on the palate, with plenty of fruit before finishing to an adults only dryness. Quite comfortable in the company of most any fine faire, Viña Sol is one of those drinks that says, kiss me quick and feed me! Excellent as aperitif and highly akin to tapas or pastas, jamon and melone, Iberian style pizza or paella.

Parellada is the finest and most delicate of the traditional Catalan wine grapes. When grown to the cool mountain climes of Upper Penedes, it yields a splendid style of wine. The process required to achieve a pure, clean and seductive style of Catalan white, just as we understand them today, proved very difficult for the old world winemakers until recent times. Torres have refined cutting edge techniques of specialized viticulture to capture and retain the unique expressions of Parellada grape in the finished wine. By harnessing the virtues of the elements, terroir and clime, harvests of Parellada are transformed by the hands of experience into distinctive Catalan wines that are wonderfully elegant and fresh.
Light straw yellow with greenish hue. Intense nose with outstanding notes of flowers and ripe fruits, bananas and pear, apples and peach, combined with a delightful touches of citrus and mandarin zest. A firm and fresh palate exhibiting great length of flavour, elegantly structured with fine minerality over the delicate fruity background, drying and crisp before a clean, lingering finish.
