Sourced from the superior Glenkara vineyard in the Pyrenees and a small parcel 6% from the Taylors vineyard at Beechworth, Patricia has spent 18 months in a combination of new and older French oak. A wine of unshakeably gelatinous flavours like cherry and berry ju-jubes, Patricia is supple with fruit intensity and tenderness, it's soft palate and fine silky tannins, hit an immediate chord with Australian wine judges.

Tarrango is a unique Australian grape, formulated by CSIRO scientists in 1965 after crossing the Iberian Touriga varietal with the humble sultana. It was developed to produce a light, fresh red wine ideal for enjoyment throughout warm and hot summers. Named after the tiny township of Tarrango in the Mallee district of northwest Victoria, where it was designed to thrive, the vines bear generous crops which ripen late, maintain a fresh acidity and soft grapey flavours. Small batch winemaker Rob Peebles sources a very special parcel of Shiraz from a unique five acre block, off fully mature vines forty years of age, within the eminent Davies Vineyard, an auspicious site which also supplies fruit to the venerable Two Hands and Bindi labels as well as Domaine Chandon.

Bullant Langhorne Creek Cabernet Merlot 2010

It was lunch in the vineyard as it ticked past 12 o'clock, when I saw a sight I'll never forget on that red soiled block. It started with a shuffle but turned into a dance. The boys shook about like they wanted out of their pants! As it turned out they were losing a fight. Trying to avoid the bullants, and boy can they bite. They ran from the block and couldn't be seen, until they returned much later with a can of Mortein! We've since dealt with those bullants and they no longer bite. But their memory still lingers when we pour a glass of Bullant each night.

Buller Beverford Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Reginald Langdon Buller served in the Australian Navy during both world wars. In 1951 he acquired land at Beverford near Swan Hill for the purpose of expanding his winemaking operations outside of Rutherglen. Following the establishment of new vineyards, a winery and distillery, Buller looked forward to releasing wines under the Beverford label. After many vintages, the mature vines are yielding some of the region's most exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon. Beverford offers great depth, sophistication and weight of fruit in a completely satisfying everyday wine.

Buller Calliope Durif 2006

Calliope is the name of the original vineyard established by Reginald Langdon Buller in 1921. Calliope is also the Buller estate flagship, reserved for outstanding vintages. Durif has been grown at Rutherglen for over a century, arguably the world's most precious enclave of Durif, due to the long stading phyloxera quarantine. Vintage 2004 was hailed as one of the greatest in living memory for Rutherglen, yielding an extraordinary crop of amazing intensity. Calliope continues to endure as a wine of concentrated dark plummy fruit supported by fine, lingering tannins.

Buller Limited Release Rutherglen Shiraz 2005

Since 1921, three generations of the Buller family have been making wine from the old Shiraz vines on the Calliope vineyard. The vineyard is not irrigated and for this reason each vintage is subject to the whims of mother nature. As a result, yields are often low and only a small quantity of wine is produced each year. The Buller Limited Release Rutherglen Shiraz was made using tried and true methods of hand picking and basket pressing, open fermenters and a painstaking plunge by hand for maximum extraction of colour and tannin.

Buller Valerie Merlot 2004

"FOUR STARS****!" Winestate. One of Buller's more outstanding offerings and certainly quite a superior effort for in a Rutherglen Merlot. It's Medoc like climate has yielded a sublime and velvety red that delivers, from nose onto the tongue. Harvested and plunged by hand and basket pressed, this intensely aromatic wine offers ripe plummy fruits, mint and dark chocolate on the nose. The palate is equally intense with dark fruits, dried herbs and enticing savoury and gamey characters. Not your average Merlot, albeit one that will continue to integrate and soften over the next 6 to 8 years.
