William James Maxwell was an architectural sculptor who migrated from Scotland to Australia in 1875. He built a mock castle and established a family vineyard just outside Adelaide, which he named Woodlands Park. Scotch Whisky
Two centuries of excellence and Malts of the highest order are required to create XR 21. John Walker devoted his life to the development of protocals which could deliver a Whisky of refinement and consistency. When stewardship passed to Alexander Walker in 1857, branding became another priority with the introduction of a square bottle and slanted label. XR 21 Years Old is assembled according to the hand written notes of Alexander Walker himself, a selection of Johnnie Walker's finest and most arcane, including priceless stocks of the bygone Brora Malt.
